First Knighton Medal Results - 17/05/08


The results for the first ever Knighton Medal for Academy Junior Members have been posted. You can find a link to them above.

All those who competed have been given an unofficial handicap they can use when playing in Knighton competitions and will be the basis for handicap competitions held in the future.

If you are an Academy Junior Member and you did not play in the first Knighton Medal, make sure you put your name down for the next one so we can get your handicap up and running.

Sign up sheets will be on the Academy Junior notice board at the driving range before competitions. Alternatively you can phone the range on 01202 591212 and we will do it for you!

 
 
Knighton Competitions - 08/05/08


As you can see above, the date for the first Knighton Medal for Academy junior members has been set. This will be your first opportunity to get your unofficial handicaps going so it would be a good idea for as many of you as possible to come along!

Tee times start from 1800, so please arrive promptly on the first tee of the Knighton Course where you will be told your exact tee time.

 
 
 
 

Over the past 10 years, many of our Canford Kids were taking their lessons at the academy but were not playing regularly on the golf courses.This was due to the fact that thier golf was getting better but not to the standard required to play a 'full' course. To bridge the gap between Canford Kids and full junior membership, an ‘Academy Junior Membership’ has now been created.

We feel that if Canford Kids can combine their tuition with regular golf on the Knighton Course, they will develop their skills at a much improved rate.

Academy Junior Members are entitled to :-

  • Play the Knighton course 7 days a week at any time
  • Enter monthly ‘Junior Academy competitions’
  • Obtain EGU structured ‘Unofficial handicaps’
  • Have your own dedicated organiser in the form of Canford Magna professional Darren 'Deej' Stratman
  • Place their name on the waiting list to become a full junior member

There is an annual subscription of £95 to join as an Academy Junior Member

Any junior wishing to join the club as a full junior member must have completed 12 months as an academy junior before becoming eligible to upgrade.
